Ok, since your tanning bed has a facial tanner, we need to make sure we get EXACTLY the right size and number of lamps. There are THREE basic types of facial tanning. First you must choose which one your tanning bed has. 400 watt facial tanner This type of facial unit is the most common. It is a 400 watt UVA lamp, with a special filter to keep UVC rays from reaching you (UVC is nasty stuff and does not tan). Some tanning beds have 1,2 or 3 of these units, and some tanning beds put 2 bulbs in each facial unit, so you must open it up if you are not sure before purchasing (and write it down for later use!). The 400 watt bulb should be changed TWICE as often as your regular lamps. There are two basic kinds of 400 watt bulbs: Snap in and wire-lead. You can purchase these online as well, just check to see what kind you have first to save yourself a headache. Special Note! Notice the lamps in front of the facial are shorter? Most tanning beds use 59" lamps (or 60") in front of the facial, and the number will vary, so be sure to count the number of full sized lamps, the number of F59 (or F60) lamps, and the number of facial lamps BEFORE you buy! This is an effective, and inexpensive way to add extra tanning power to the facial area. Most of the lamps is a blue color, with the last 18" on one end being a pink color. These lamps are used in the canopy, usually 6 of them in the center, but sometimes all the lamps in the canopy are these lamps. The other lamps in the tanning bed are usually Light Sources 5.0 Midday Sun (which is a perfect match for the blue area) A bonus! Any regular tanning bed can use this technology without modification. Its all inside the lamp! Just replace 6 or more of the lamps in the center of your canopy for instant facial tanning! If you so choose, you can remove the facial tanning capability by replacing them with standard lamps. If you have this kind of facial tanning and wish to maintain the facial tanning, you should purchase Light Source Dual Sun lamps for the facial lamps, and Light Source Midday Sun for the remainder. They come in both F71 and F3 sizes. Click here to go buy lamps now Turbo facial This type of facial tanning system is a less common but effective method, and is used primarily in Turbo models of SUNQUEST® and SUNVISION® tanning beds. The Turbo facial lamps are T5 lamps (5/8" in diameter) and are much shorter than standard lamps. These are usually placed inbetween the regular lamps in the facial area. These are not common, and as such, are special order items. We can usually still drop ship them to you in 24 hours, but you should call us to order them at 1-800-274-1744. If you choose, you can replace all the full sized lamps in your tanning bed, and NOT replace these T5 lamps and your bed will function fine, but with NO added facial tanning support. Turbo lamps should be replaced as often as you replace your standard lamps. Call 1-800-274-1744 to order, or buy regular lamps by clicking here. |
